Databases to find Directories & Articles
The following databases will help you find company directory information and articles. Note that financial information is usually at best a guesstimate as private companies do not have to make the finances available to the public.
- Hoover's In-depth Company RecordsGood coverage for both public and private companies.
- NexisUniGo to Company Dossier (upper left corner). Search for the name of the company/ticker. Go to competitors to find a list of the competing companies.
- Business Insights (Gale) (Formerly known as Business Insights: Essentials)
Contains detailed company and industry news and information including company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, market research reports, SWOT reports, company histories, and more.
Contents: Company and industry information, articles, and statistical data.
- Business Source Premier (EBSCO)
Covers all areas of business.
Contents: Full-text articles, books, news industry reports, market research reports, country reports, company profiles, SWOT analyses, working papers, and more.
- ABI/INFORM Collection (ProQuest)
This collection, comprised of ABI/INFORM Global, Trade & Industry, and Dateline, contains resources covering accounting, marketing, sports and business, and economics.
Contents: Full-text articles, dissertations, working papers, periodicals, country- and industry-focused reports, case studies, and market information.
- NetAdvantage (S&P)From Standard & Poors, this database contains financial information for US and global companies, (both public and private) including current and past stock prices, annual reports, SEC and Canadian SEDAR filings, industry surveys, and other information for business research and analysis.

Besides the databases mentioned above you might try various national and regional newspaper databases for information about the company/companies you are interested in.

Produced by the Alternative Press Center, this bibliographic database contains citations from international alternative, radical, and left periodicals, including works by journalists, theorists, and writers from a wide variety of concentrations within the fields of alternative and cultural studies.
Contents: Citations for journal, newspaper, and magazine articles. 1991-present.

Provides full-text regional business publications for rural and metropolitan areas in the United States and Canadian provinces.
