- Freedom HouseOrganization that monitors freedom, democracy and human rights worldwide. They publish the following reports: Freedom in the World, Freedom on the Net, Freedom of the Press, Nations in Transit, Countries at the Crossroads, and Women's Rights in the Middle East and North Africa.
- Reporters without BordersAdvocacy organization that defends journalists, fights against censorship, and works to improve the safety of journalists worldwide. They publish the Press Freedom Index.

- Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC)Non-profit NGO located in Singapore that promotes media and communications in Asia. This membership organization offers research, publication and events.
- Screen AustraliaScreen Australia is a Federal Government agency charged with supporting Australian screen development, production and promotion.
- Broadcasting Standards Authority (BSA)Overseeing and promoting broadcasting standards on behalf of New Zealanders
- China Media Observatory (CMO)China Media Observatory (CMO) was established in 2006 to increase the academic knowledge of Chinese politics, economics, and culture in the field of media and communication studies
- Computer Entertainment Suppliers AssociationJapanese organization that promotes the Japanese computer entertainment industry. They support the annual Tokyo Game Show.
- Euromedia Research GroupERG is a network of European researchers that began life in 1982 as a workshop on media policy, convened by Dr Karen Siune of Arhus University, within the framework of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR)
- European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA)EASA is the coordinating body for advertising self-regulatory organisations within Europe, and seeks to promote responsible advertising. It does this by providing guidance to its members on how to go about advertising self-regulation for the benefit of both businesses and consumers.
