Library Services for International Students

Welcome, Bienvenue, 欢迎光临, 환영합니다, Bienvenido

Welcome to the Ithaca College Library. Our mission is to enhance teaching and learning at Ithaca College through the provision of flexible, diverse, and user-centered information services and resources.

Here are a few things that you might not know you can do at the Library:

  1. Do you need help researching? You have your own personal librarian! Schedule a Zoom meeting with a librarian.  Additionally, librarians are available until 6 pm EST Monday to Thursday, and Sunday 2-6 pm.

  2. We added “Try my search in” Google or EBSCO in the right menu of our Library Search engine. While our Library Search results may be enormous, trying a separate index system can help with article discovery.  Sample search

  3. If we don’t have full-text access to a book or article, we will try to get it for you through our Interlibrary Loan service.  You can now access your ILL Account in the Library Account in the upper right corner of the library's homepage.

  1. Not sure where to start?  Choose a Library Guide from the Guide tab on the library home page.  We gather together a variety of resources on a particular subject.

  1. Citing right can be challenging.  We have a Cite tab at the top of our homepage with guidance.  Cathy Michael uses Zotero and can help you get started.  Laura Kuo, our Health Sciences Librarian, can help you with a similar service, Mendeley

  1. Do you read the New York Times?  Ithaca College has a campus wide subscription.  You have to “claim a pass” annually.  We have a guide for that, of course!

  1. If you’ve not tried our ebook collection, Ebook Central, you can search across the content of over 180,000 online books! Find it under “E” on the Databases tab of the Library’s homepage.

  1. There is an easy way to find statistics on businesses, industries, and social sciences.  Definitely try our database Statista if you need stats.

  1. Looking for international news?  Try Nexis Uni (LexisNexis). Cathy can help you become a super-searcher by using search commands.
